Renovation Design – Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing
Design-Aire engineering, Inc. (DAE) did a renovation designed for Lighthouse Charter School because they had an outdated heating and air conditioning systems in the existing that were also at the end of their useful life, in addition they were not meeting the required amount of outdoor air in the classrooms.
The project consists of new construction of a 21,578 square foot 1-story pre-engineered metal building addition with metal siding and masonry veneer at the west of the existing building and the renovation of the existing 77,158 square foot school building. The heating ventilating and air conditioning systems were replaced in the existing building with an energy efficient VRF system with dedicated outdoor air rooftop units, which distribute outdoor air to the spaces. The same systems were designed for the new addition. The existing energy inefficient lights in the school were replaced with new energy efficient lighting.
The expected result of this project is that the building will be more comfortable, energy efficient and pass the states requirements for outdoor air.
