Design-Aire Engineering and Fox Architects partnered in the Design of the Building 42 Addition of the Marion VA Medical Center Campus. The project consists of the Construction of two additional floors above pre-existing space. The upgrade included new Phlebotomy stations, administration offices, labs for histology, microbiology, chemistry and a blood bank. In addition to the Marion VAMC, these new facilities will serve all clinical VAMC sites within the region.
Along with the new addition, the project will incorporate unfinished upper and lower interstitial space for MEP; this is meant to structurally accommodate the eventual construction of a future, additional level.
The addition requires the relocation of an existing service tunnel, electrical feeder duct-bank, and a primary voltage transformer. The building site will also require the relocation of a service road and a site-parking modification to allow for 50 additional parking spaces.
