The building is approximately 40,000 square feet recreation facility consisting of two stories and a racquetball court. The lower level houses the fitness center and the upper level is a full size gymnasium with two work out areas.
The project involved demolition of the existing steam boiler system and radiation, including remediation of asbestos piping insulation. New system was a high efficient 95% efficient gas-fired boiler system with heating water radiation, cabinet heaters, and air handler coils. The lower level renovated the existing air handler and replaced all supply and return ductwork. Outside ventilation air was added to the air handler. The gym had a 40-ton high efficient ground-mounted packaged rooftop unit with a heat recovery wheel and economized, with exposed spiral ductwork. The racquetball court had a high efficient ground-mounted packaged rooftop unit connected to a plate and frame heat recovery unit. The HVAC system is controlled by a digital control system. Lighting was renovated to include high efficient T-8 lights.
