The east wing of the conference center had the HVAC system renovated. The existing system was a variable air volume air handler, which did not allow for the diversity of the space. This project removed a portion of the air handling system and installed a new high efficient, ground-mounted, packaged heat pump rooftop unit, with backup gas heat, and a heat recovery wheel and economizer. Ductwork was concealed in a new chase and was distributed to new diffusers. On the exterior of the building, the supply and return ductwork have connections for a standalone temporary unit to be added in the future. The ground-mounted equipment was concealed by a special aluminum and steel fence that matched the architecture of the building. The existing HVAC and mechanical systems were re-balanced and commissioned. A new electrical system was added to power the new packaged unit and has a connection for a standalone temporary unit to be added in the future.
