An energy audit of the Methodist Medical South facility in March, 2004 identified six energy conservation measures. DAE recommended shutdown of select exhaust fans, modifying boiler operating schedule, upgrading incandescent with compact fluorescent light bulbs, changing constant volume to variable air volume system, occupancy sensors in select rooms, and power factor correction. The energy cost payback and return on investment to implement these measures are 2.6 years and 38.5%, respectively, which will result in a 28.3% reduction in energy costs.
