An energy audit of the South Building identified eleven energy conservation measures. DAE recommended generating chilled water on-site, night setback, limiting steam efficiency motors, lighting upgrades, occupancy sensors in restrooms and offices, and power factor correction. The energy cost payback and return on investment to implement these measures are 3.8 years and 26.1%, respectively, which resulted in a 28.8% reduction in energy costs.
